CT33S battens were designed to meet the demands of the extreme environments encountered during offshore and round-the-world racing. Based on the CT33 range, CT33S battens are manufactured from prepreg s-glass and prepreg carbon fibre.

The blend of s-glass and carbon allows softer battens to be produced with high compression strength. A CT33S batten offers even more durability than a pure carbon batten as it can withstand tighter curvatures without failing. CT33S battens are heavier than CT33 battens, as a greater amount of s-glass has to be added to achieve the same stiffness as carbon.

A combination of CT33 and CT33S battens can be used to create the ideal batten set for inshore-offshore use. Using CT33S for the top 2-3 battens provides added durability; pure carbon CT33 battens can be used for the longer, stiffer battens in set.

• Luff can be converted to a round end during manufacturing

• Can be manufactured to any length with joins (internal and external) provided, pre-fitted in factory (to be glued in place on arrival)
  - battens 8.3m to 16.4m long will have a join at 8.2m
• Batten sectional size varies due to mandrel, taper and laminate thickness
  - specific sizes are available on request
